Leah Bullen’s paintings reference the deluge of photographically derived imagery that we experience on a daily basis. Bullen paints narratives drawn from the 21st century experience of the unending news cycle and the continuous televisual world. Her topics range from the social to the political; the personal to the global. Her interest is centred around the ‘slippage’ that occurs between reproduced images and the independent reality of the painterly world.
